Class One started life as a market stall back in 1990. When the fabl started working with the team in 2019, they were providing a dedicated service to the catering and hospitality industry from a state-of-the-art warehouse. This ambitious family-run company needed help to grow further and expand its client base.
The hospitality industry was already changing quite dramatically when we began working with Class One thanks to the explosion of plant-based cuisine and an increasing consumer interest in food security and sustainability. Initially we took a root and branch approach, undertaking thorough research, redesigning the company’s logo, delivery van livery, packaging and even staff uniforms. We devised a social media strategy and began sending out a monthly marketing newsletter and weekly emails. Then the pandemic hit – and Class One’s core business came to a halt overnight as hospitality shut down. Ever resourceful, the company decided to set up a local home delivery service bringing restaurant-quality produce to customers’ doorsteps. We stepped in by designing and setting up a Shopify website from scratch and in record time as well as adapting our social media activity to spread the word to locked-down locals.
Class One’s home delivery service during the lockdowns was a resounding success, and as the world re-opened so did their core business as suppliers to bars, restaurants, hotels and schools. We continue to support Class One with their business growth in both their wholesale and retail operations – the company has gained several more high-profile clients and, working with the fabl, even more ambitious aims will be achieved.
