7&5 Charity Gin - The Fabl

The Challenge

To create a fundraising design

We wanted to create a unique and memorable design for the special edition gin which would directly relate to both Doddie and Rob’s illustrious professional careers and personal passions. The charity gin was also to appeal to the widest demographic possible – to encourage even non-gin drinkers to buy a bottle for the cause. The name 7&5 Charity Gin was chosen as a nod to the players’ shirt numbers.

The Result

A very special edition

Our designers immediately seized on the blue, yellow, black and white colour scheme which reflects both the team colours of the Leeds Rhinos – who Rob played with for 16 years – and Doddie’s very own tartan, which was specifically designed to raise funds for MND research. We developed a quirky illustrative design featuring representations of the two men, a rugby pitch and the open landscape so loved by both Doddie and Rob. We added inspirational quotes from each of the men and designed a bespoke shield featured on the front and neck of the bottle. The result was an eye-catching design firmly inspired by Doddie and Rob’s professional success and combined personal quest. The gin was sold through sports club bars and retailers with all proceeds donated directly to the players’ chosen MND charities.
